Works with Claude and ChatGPT
Claude vs ChatGPT for business: a gym owner's guide
Claude vs ChatGPT for business is an easy call for a gym owner: both work with MyGymDesk, read the same records and make the same previewed changes. The difference is in the assistant around it, such as how you connect, how each asks for approval and how a team shares it. Pick the one your team already uses.
MyGymDesk is listed in Claude's connector directory. The MyGymDesk app is coming soon to the ChatGPT app directory. Connect it today through ChatGPT's developer mode.

What's the same in Claude and ChatGPT
For a gym owner, the part that matters most is identical. Claude and ChatGPT both connect to the same MyGymDesk server, with the same 37 tools, the same sign-in and the same preview rules. Whichever you choose, you ask about the same records and get the same figures.
- Sign-in with your own MyGymDesk login, so each assistant sees only what your role and branches can see.
- 17 reads covering today, members, renewals, dues, revenue, payments, attendance, classes, personal training, leads, staff, devices, expenses and profit.
- 10 changes, each previewed first and each waiting for your yes to “Shall I go ahead?”, from a class booking to a WhatsApp template.
- The same work stays in the MyGymDesk app: payments, bills and invoices, deleting, full member lists and settings.
- A record of each request on the MyGymDesk side, and no conversation text kept by MyGymDesk.
Claude vs ChatGPT for business, side by side
The differences are in the assistant around MyGymDesk: how you find it, how you connect, how each one asks for approval and how a team shares it. As of 5 Oct 2026:
| Topic | Claude | ChatGPT |
|---|---|---|
| Finding MyGymDesk | Listed in Claude's connector directory | The MyGymDesk app is coming soon to the ChatGPT app directory. |
| Connecting | Customize → Connectors, find MyGymDesk and choose Connect, or add a custom connector with the URL | Turn on developer mode in ChatGPT's settings, then add an app with the URL |
| Signing in | Your MyGymDesk login, then Approve | Your MyGymDesk login, then Approve |
| Tools | 37: 27 read-only and 10 that write | The same 37 |
| The assistant's own approval | A setting per tool: Always allow, Needs approval or Blocked; a custom connector starts on Needs approval | An approval card before a change, depending on your ChatGPT settings; our Chat mode demo showed it each time |
| MyGymDesk's own question | Every change asks first: preview, “Shall I go ahead?”, then the change after your yes | Every change asks first: preview, “Shall I go ahead?”, then the change after your yes |
| A whole team | On Team or Enterprise, an Owner adds it once for the organization; each person signs in with their own login | Each person connects with their own MyGymDesk login |
| Disconnecting | Claude's connector settings, or Connected AI apps in MyGymDesk | ChatGPT's settings, or Connected AI apps in MyGymDesk |
The same question in both
We asked both assistants about Ironline Fitness, a demo gym in Bengaluru, on 5 Oct 2026. The wording differs, because each assistant writes its own reply. The figures are the same, because both read them from MyGymDesk.
You: Show last month's revenue by payment mode.
ChatGPT's reply, summarised
ChatGPT listed September 2026 revenue in five payment modes, then the total across 51 payments.

Claude's reply, summarised
September's total from the same 51 payments, with the payment modes adding up to it.
Which to choose, by how you work
You already pay for one of them
Use that one. MyGymDesk works the same way in both, so there is nothing to gain from a second subscription just for the gym.
You want MyGymDesk from the assistant's own directory
Claude has it today: MyGymDesk is listed in Claude's connector directory, one search away in Customize → Connectors. ChatGPT users connect it now through developer mode, with the same URL and sign-in.
Your whole team works in one workspace
On Claude Team or Enterprise, an Owner adds MyGymDesk once for the organization and every person connects with their own login. That keeps setup short when a manager, two receptionists and a few trainers all want it.
You want a confirmation on every change
You get one in both without doing anything: MyGymDesk asks “Shall I go ahead?” before every change, in Claude and in ChatGPT alike. For a second confirmation from the assistant itself, keep the write tools on Needs approval in Claude; in ChatGPT, Chat mode showed an approval card before each change in our demo.
You use both
Connect both. Each connection shows up in Connected AI apps in MyGymDesk, and you can end either one there without touching the other.
How each assistant asks for approval
Approvals are where the two feel most different. In Claude, every connector tool has a setting, and a custom connector starts with each one on Needs approval, so Claude's card (Allow once, Always allow, Decline) appears before each call. You can relax that for the 27 read-only tools and keep it for the 10 that write.
In ChatGPT, the approval card depends on your settings. In our Chat mode demo, ChatGPT showed its card before each change, with Allow once, Always allow and Deny. In another run, when the owner chose Deny on a class booking, ChatGPT replied that the booking was previewed but declined, so the member was not booked.
Underneath both, MyGymDesk's preview stays the same: a preview changes nothing, it can be used once within 10 minutes, and every one of the ten changes waits for your yes, whichever assistant you use. Read more in the ChatGPT connector guide and the Claude connector guide.
